Harkboot.nl BV is the winner of the NENnovation Award 2021

Harkboot.nl BV is the winner of the NENnovation Award 2021 in the category of customers and committee members.

The jury believes that Harkboot is working on a very innovative method in which entrepreneurship and cooperation are positively predominant. The rake method is a solution for controlling particular native rooted undesirable water plants. By handling these, waters are made more suitable for fishing, the long-term flow of water is improved, and recreation (sailing/swimming) becomes easier. The raking method is also a good solution for controlling invasive exotic species on the Union list.

The innovation is the automation of a traditional maintenance method. The social relevance is excellent: on the one hand, preventing the growth of overgrowth in ditches, and on the other hand, using an approach that reduces the environmental impact. The rake boat also employs people distant from the labour market.

Harkboot has taken the initiative to work out an NTA and is looking at the next step: European standardisation.
